Reddit gets over 1 billion visits a month. Many consider it the front page of the Internet.

But what makes Reddit so great?

Curation.

The site makes it easy to find the best content about any topic. That’s because users vote on what is good and what isn’t.

The platform is curated by the user for the user.

But this is hardly unique to Reddit. Every social media site uses curation to filter and promote the best content.

Why These Platforms Exist

Finding good content is hard. And with the vastness of the Internet, it’s impossible to search through all of it. Especially because most of it isn’t very good.

As science-fiction writer Theodore Sturgeon put it,

“ninety percent of everything is crap.”

That’s even more true online. Before social media came along, you had to surf the web for hours. With a slim hope you’d find something worth your time. It was like playing the lottery.

But most people just don’t have the time or energy for that. Not to mention the extreme decision fatigue.

In a world where we make thousands of choices a day, does anyone need more choices to make? There’s a reason so many platforms have an auto-play feature.

Social media’s service is curation. Without it, the Internet would be unusable. Great content would be buried under mountains of pollution.

A bunch of bad apples buries the best.

The NFT Market

Similarly to the Internet, NFTs are going through an early stage of development. There’s no simple way to separate the good from the bad.

NFT traders regularly talk about spending their entire day in obscure Discord servers and tiny Telegram groups.

The NFT market desperately needs its own curation. A platform that can separate the good from the bad. Where users don’t have to worry about scams or rug pulls.

And there just might be a solution.

Curation at LiveArtX

LiveArtX is an NFT marketplace built & curated by art experts. Decades of experience. The kind of taste that takes a lifetime to develop.

Our curators are constantly searching for the best NFTs artists have to offer. But we won’t be curating the platform forever.

LiveArtX DAO

We’re currently building a DAO to govern our NFT marketplace.

Our users will decide what is good and what isn’t in addition to making & voting on changes to the platform.

We want to empower the art community.

After all, we don’t want LiveArtX to reflect our tastes. We want it to reflect the taste of the art community as a whole.

Curation will be done by the user for the user.
